American Precast Refractories is a division of Allied Mineral Products, Inc.  Located in Columbus, Ohio, APR specializes in the design and manufacturing of refractory precast shapes.

APR offers a complete line of shapes utilized in molten aluminum contact applications including; reverberatory furnaces, diecasting holding furnaces, coreless furnaces, runners, tundishes, funnels, custom pouring components, reverb dome covers and many more.  APR can design and manufacture any shape required in aluminum melting operations.

APR manufactures shapes for the aluminum industry using products mainly from the Matrix Refractories Division product line.  For high wear, molten aluminum impact areas, several high silicon carbide based refractory castables are available.  For molten aluminum applications where high thermal shock is an issue we have a variety of mullite/alumina and fused silica products. For structural furnace components we can utilize a variety of mid to high alumina mixes to make shapes.  A variety of different types of stainless steel needles are available for added strength to any precast shape.
